Steel rods are installed inside the cylinder as grinding media. Under the action of friction force, it is lifted to a certain height, and it falls down in a state of throwing or leaking. The ground material continuously enters the inside of the cylinder through the feeding port, is crushed by the moving grinding medium, and is discharged out of the machine through the force of overflow and continuous feeding for the next stage of processing.

Mining rod mill  is  three application conditions, as follows:
1. Rod mills are mostly used in gravity separation or magnetic separation plants of tin ore and other rare metal ores, in order to prevent the harm caused by over-grinding.
2. The rod mill can be used for the second-stage grinding operation in the concentrator. If the first-stage grinding operation is from 20~6mm to 3~1mm, the rod mill is used as the first-stage grinding equipment, which has high productivity and Efficiency is also higher. The main reason is that the surface area of a certain weight of rods is much smaller than that of balls of the same weight, so the productivity and efficiency of rod mills are lower than that of ball mills when performing two-stage fine grinding.
3. In some cases, the rod mill can replace the short-head cone crusher for fine crushing. When dealing with softer or lower hardness ore (or more viscous ore), use a rod mill to grind 19-25 ore to 6-10 mesh, than when using a short-head cone crusher and a sieve to form a closed circuit The configuration is simple, the cost is also low, and the dust removal in the crushing workshop can be simplified. (In this case, the hardness of the ore needs to be determined, and the final choice of crushing equipment or rod grinding equipment in the design needs to be customized according to the actual situation.)
