A horizontal piston pump is a hydraulic pump that has several pistons (usually 3 or 6) installed in parallel, and uses a crankshaft to directly push the piston to do reciprocating motion through a connecting rod slider or an eccentric shaft to achieve liquid suction and discharge. They also use valve-type flow distribution devices, and most of them are quantitative pumps. The emulsion pumps in the hydraulic support system of coal mines are generally horizontal piston pumps. The emulsion pump is used in the coal mining working face to provide emulsion for the hydraulic support. The working principle relies on the rotation of the crankshaft to drive the piston to do reciprocating motion to achieve liquid suction and discharge.
The radial piston pump does not have an oil distribution plate, but is distributed by a special oil distribution shaft. The oil distribution shaft generates a large radial force due to the uneven pressure between the oil suction port and the oil pressure port. At the same time, due to the large radial size of this type of pump, the relative movement speed is large and the wear is also large. These are the disadvantages of the radial pump. However, since the plungers are placed radially, several more rows of plungers can be placed, so the number of plungers is large compared to the axial pump, and the flow rate is large. This is its advantage. Compared with gear pumps and vane pumps, the plunger pump has a simpler sealing surface shape because the plunger is cylindrical, which can reduce the fitting clearance and has the advantages of less oil leakage, high efficiency, and high pressure resistance.
