Product Description

The press felt plays an important role in removing the water from the paper web after the forming section, and at the same time imparting smoothness and conveying it to the dryer section. For this reason, the press felt needed to provide the following functions: water removal, smoothness, and runability. In recent years, larger and faster paper machines require press felts of even higher consistency and quality. At Huatao, we seek uniformity in every aspect of the production process. Using digital controls, we are able to manage the entire process with great precision, and implement a high level of quality control in all aspects.

There are three series of BOM papermaking felts available in the market. They are single-layer base mesh, double-layer base mesh, and multi layer base mesh. According to there structures, they can be divided into BOM formed felt, BOM pressed felt, BOM upper felt, BOM dryer felt, BOM pulp board felt, and so on.

BOM paper-making felts are generally made of the base mesh layer and the fiber layer. The base mesh can be single, double or multi-layers. The double base mesh
layer can also have a 1+1 laminated. The multi-layer base mesh can also be divided into 1+2 or 2+2 laminated. All mesh bases are woven with monofilament or twisted monofilament yarns. The fiber layers are woven with different sizes of polyamide fibers. Fiber layers and base mesh layer are attached by needle stitching to form the felt

Product Features

Strength: Press felt has a certain strength. The periodic stress and fatigue in the process of pressing can cause the felt elongation, compression and horizontal direction strain. When felt is used too long, the deformation will reduce the felt quality and reduce felt service life.

Void Volume: The void volume refers to the measured value of the water capacity of the press felt, especially the maximum water capacity of the press felt under the load effect. Felt shall have a certain volume of voids to absorb the water pressed out of the wet paper sheet.

Permeability: Permeability refers to the performance of water or air through felt under certain pressure or vacuum conditions. Press felt must have good permeability. The fluid pressure in the pressure zone is too high to cause wet paper embossing. Fillers, binders, fine fibres and other impurities can clog felt pores and reduce felt permeability. So the felt must be cleaned regularly to keep felt clean. And as far as possible to avoid impurities to block felt pores, maintain its smooth, water permeable, and large enough void volume to play the auxiliary dehydration of felt.

Compressible Properties: Felt must be kept in a certain degree of compressibility. After the felt is used, the pore volume decreases gradually, and the diameter of the capillary pipe becomes smaller. The result is that the channel of fluid flow and the penetration of the felt are reduced, and the pressure of the pressed zone increases.

Wear Resistance: The felt play the role of transporting power, driving the action roller in press section. Because the felt will produce friction with some fixed element surface, such as a felt suction tank or suction pipe, so the felt must have good wear resistance.
